Using the cut-out edits of my Nonna, I these into lino. The imperfect lines and raw texture of the prints add to the feeling of loss. I then digitally edited these prints, layering them with other elements of her life to reflect the complexity of memory.
Building on this, I used the shape left behind by her absence to create a digital projection. This projected form became a presence itself, casting her outline into new spaces and recontextualising her memory through light.
Additionally, I created a video in which photographs from the collage are projected onto the collage itself. The video finishes on the silhouette of my Nonna, showing that even as memories fade or change, there is always a void left behind.
