I developed my skills in Cyanotype by using my photoshop edits to create prints with. Fusing photography, digital art, and traditional printmaking together, created a connection between past and present. I liked the aesthetic of Cyanotype prints, with its blue hues and dreamlike quality. They evoke a sense of nostalgia and timelessness, reminiscent of faded photographs. This aesthetic choice highlights the temporary nature of memories, which can fade and evolve over time but still remain deeply ingrained in our minds.
I used the splash technique on the print to convey a more authentic and whimsical approach. This allowed me to introduce an element of spontaneity and playfulness into the artistic process, resulting in a composition that exhibits a sense of vibrant energy and movement. This allowed for a more fluid interaction with the medium, whilst adding texture and depth to the image.
