This series of images captures the setting of my Nonna’s home, a space filled with religious iconography, statues of saints, and Catholic symbols that permeated her life. Her home is not just a place of comfort but a shrine to her lifelong faith, a physical manifestation of her devotion.
Documenting this space marks the beginning of my exploration into my Nonna's faith, as I realised how deeply intertwined her religion was with her identity, especially as dementia began to affect her memory. These photographs shift my focus from Catholicism as a whole, to a personal experience shaped by memory and the effects of religion.
